About This Program

What You'll Learn

Course Description

Aerial Yoga uses a soft silk hammock suspended from the ceiling to support and deepen your practice. The fabric takes the weight off your joints and spine, letting you move into stretches and inversions that are difficult on the mat. From gentle floating relaxation to playful airborne poses, each class blends traditional yoga with the freedom of suspension.

A key benefit is spinal decompression: hanging in the hammock gently lengthens the spine and relieves built-up tension from desk work and long sitting. It also builds core and grip strength, improves flexibility, and brings a real sense of fun and lightness to practice. No acrobatic background is needed; we start with the basics and build trust in the hammock first.

Key Benefits

  • Decompresses the spine and relieves back tension
  • Allows deeper, joint-friendly stretches with hammock support
  • Makes inversions accessible and safe
  • Builds core, arm, and grip strength
  • Improves flexibility and full-body circulation
  • Boosts mood with a playful, weightless practice
FAQ

Frequently Asked
Questions

Still have questions? We're here to help you choose the right program for your journey.

01Will I fall out of the hammock?
No. The hammocks are rigged to hold well over your body weight, and you stay low to the ground while learning. We teach you to set up and trust the fabric before any inversions.
02Is aerial yoga safe if I'm a complete beginner?
Yes. We start everyone with foundational support poses and gentle floating, building confidence gradually. Prior yoga experience helps but isn't required.
03Are there any conditions that make aerial yoga unsuitable?
We advise caution or a doctor's clearance for pregnancy, recent surgery, glaucoma, high or very low blood pressure, vertigo, or heart conditions, as inversions may not be suitable.
04What should I wear?
Fitted clothing that covers the backs of the knees and underarms is best, as it's more comfortable in the fabric. Avoid zippers, jewellery, and loose tops.
