What You'll Learn
Course Description
Our Drawing Classes begin with the fundamentals every artist needs: holding the pencil, controlling line weight, and training the eye to see shapes, negative space and proportion. From basic geometric forms you progress to still-life setups, hatching and cross-hatching, value scales, and one- and two-point perspective so your drawings gain depth and structure.
As you advance, the focus shifts to detailed observation drawing from real objects, drapery, faces and outdoor scenes, with attention to light, shadow and composition. Students work in graphite, charcoal and ink, building a personal sketchbook practice and a small portfolio of finished pieces by the end of each level.
