About This Program

What You'll Learn

Course Description

Trataka is the yogic practice of steady, unblinking gazing, most often at a candle flame, that trains the mind to hold a single point of focus. Recognised as both a cleansing kriya and a gateway to meditation, it strengthens the eyes, calms the chattering mind, and cultivates the inner steadiness that makes deeper dharana possible.

This course builds the practice gradually: external gazing (bahir trataka) on the flame, followed by closed-eye visualisation of the after-image (antar trataka). You will learn correct distance, posture, timing, and how to care for the eyes, progressing from short gazes to sustained focus and a clear inner image that lingers in the mind's eye.

Key Benefits

  • Sharpen concentration and lengthen your attention span
  • Calm mental restlessness and reduce overthinking before sleep
  • Strengthen the eye muscles and may relieve digital eye strain
  • Develop vivid inner visualisation as a foundation for meditation
  • Experience a simple, repeatable bridge from focus to stillness
FAQ

Frequently Asked
Questions

Still have questions? We're here to help you choose the right program for your journey.

01Is candle gazing safe for my eyes?
Yes, when done correctly. We teach proper distance, limited duration, and blinking-free technique that does not strain the eyes, plus eye-rest practices afterward.
02I wear glasses or contacts. Does that matter?
You can practise with or without them. Many students remove glasses and sit at a comfortable distance; the teacher will help you find what works.
03Can I do Trataka if I have epilepsy or migraines?
If you have a seizure disorder or are sensitive to flickering light, please consult us first. We can offer a steady non-flame point of focus as a safer alternative.
